We, like over 150 families in the Wimberley Valley, have lost our home in the Memorial Weekend Flood of 2015. Half of our house is missing leaving nothing but a muddy floor and piles of soggy debris. Although a few walls still stand, our home is gone.

The hardest part so far, as we are only about 24 hours in, is realizing the loss of things that cannot be replaced by money. Video tapes of childhood memories, art from 40-year-old college courses and Christamas decorations (that mean way too much) have just vanished along with most of our documented history.

Still, this is a process that likely needs more money than we have. I proposed purchasing a flat bed trailer for $45 a day, to which my mother explained it was too expensive. When you don't have a home and are trying to keep a business alive from a laptop, money doesn't come easy.

We know that a lot of people in Wimberley need  help right now, and sadly, I believe we are one of them. Anything you can afford to give would be greatly appricated for helping get my mother back on her feet with a new place to live.
