As many of you know, Logan Fincher has been in Neuro ICU since yesterday, May 28, 2015 with bleeding on his brain. He hadn't been feeling well over the weekend, and started feeling worse Monday and by Tuesday I received a call from Amy asking if someone could check on him, she was afraid his sugar was low and was dealing with a bad possible mirgraine and also seemed very lethargic. He was not much better that evening once Amy and David got home from work. From most of the symptoms he was having, and hearing about a virus going around, they thought that possibly that could have been it. Amy got him into to see his family Doctor yesterday, Wednesday. They had him go directly to CMC Pineville to do a CT SCAN. In a very short time, the doctor had Logan in an ambulance, heading to CMC Main ER for more testing, and eventually had him admitted into the Neuro ICU unit. At this point they did a more detailed CT SCAN with the dye. Unfortuantly, they didnt get results of that read to them until this morning. Logan was in and still is in a lot of pain (and was also very very hungry and thirsty). Because they were not sure if he would have surgery during the night and also having to do a Neuro test on him every hour they couldnt let him sleep much, not much pain meds and no food or drink. He did finally get about 5 hours of sleep.
This morning 3 different doctors who all work together came in at different times and gave their take on what will happen and they will all decide what to do next and when. They feel pretty sure he will have surgery, but when has not yet been decided. They did diagnose him with AVM- Arteriovenous Malformation. It is something you are born with and would not know you have until one of your blood vessels burst and the chances of having one burst becomes greater the older you get. Since they have ruled out surgery for today, (thursday) they have let him eat, are giving him better pain meds. He and his family have been surrounded by so many friends who love them all, what a blessing to see that in action! If you know any of the Finchers, you know they are always there to help at the drop of the hat and now its our turn to be there for them. First and foremost the prayers are getting them through, but we want to look ahead and even though we believe our God can do anything, and we are believing together for healing, we want to make sure the burden of doctor bills is not something they will need to worry about and can focus on Logan. A lot of people are asking " what can I do".... help in any amount, nothing is too small, I know it would be a great thing if we could all pull together and show them how much we love and support them all and if you cant donate, prayers will always be welcomed!!!
