My name is Devora Garza. My husband, Jaime Garza, was diagnosed in September with cirrhosis of the liver and a mass was found on his liver. His spine is fractured due to the cancer. It has metastasized to his spine. He was sent home on Wednesday and I called 911 yesterday, so he's back in the hospital. He has gone from 210 lbs to (as of today) 138 lbs.

We are not ones to ask for help!

But we are a bit desperate!

He has been on Workmen's Comp for 6 years. I fell 2 years ago and have a traumatic brain injury, so I have been unemployed since December 2023.

Workmen's Comp is refusing to pay him for last month (September 2025) and this month has been denied also.

Our apartments WILL NOT take partial payment!! So as of right now, we are $2694.00 behind and all I have is $1293.00 because he hasn't been paid.

We have no food, I have no gas to get to the hospital.

We are very proud people and we don't ever ask for help, so it's killing us. We just can't be put out on the street!
