Help James get back on his feet
Donation protected
On August 11th, James was in a car accident and was flown from Castlegar to Vancouver for emergency surgery on his back. He suffered a significant spinal cord injury—a burst fracture to his L1 vertebrae. James has limited motor function in his lower half and has serious nerve damage that may be permanent. He is currently in acute care at Vancouver General Hospital with plans to relocate to a nearby rehabilitation centre once he has healed enough from surgery. From the information we have, we expect that his time in the rehab centre will last anywhere from two to six months.
The rest of the family: Sarah, Devon and Zephram, will be temporarily relocating to Vancouver to be with James as he goes through the process of rehab. We need to keep our family together through this process despite the financial challenges. We know that the best way to heal is to have your loved ones close by and that’s what we intend to do.
If you think you can support us to help cover the costs of transportation, some childcare, housing or even potentially equipment, we’d be eternally grateful.
