Mikes Road to Recovery

I'm making this for my father, in hopes that we raise enough to help cover his medical expenses. Friday, December 16th, he fell and broke his hip and needed a hip replacement. This may seem like a simple surgery for most, but for someone with his prior medical issues, this minor surgery was actually a major surgery for him.. Back in 2001, on his way to the Trade Center to do hazmat removal, he was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery due to a blood clot that was en route to his heart. Doctors gave him a 50/50 chance of surviving. After the surgery, he came back home! Unfortunately 10 months later he suffered a massive stroke, leaving his right side paralyzed. In 2013 he was diangnosed with bladder cancer, stage 4. After numerous treatments on the island, they were no longer able to treat him and he was sent straight to Sloan in Manhattan where he had his bladder removed and was hospitalized for weeks. While in the hospital he suffered a severe blood infection which extended his hospital stay. This all brings us back to his fall 2 weeks ago and why it's actually a major surgery for him as well as a setback. His road to recovery is going to be long and costly, because not only did he break his hip, but he broke the hip on his paralyzed side. After a very long 11 days, including Christmas, in the hospital he was finally transferred into the nursing home for rehab. How long he'll need to be there is still unknown, so please, i ask if anyone can donate, even the smallest bit would be helpful and I can speak for my father, myself and my sisters that it is greatly appreciated.
