Help cowboy walk again ❤️
Donativo protegido
Wednesday was quite the day. We trailered cowboy up to UW Madison to be evaluated for his knee. I haven’t talked much about his condition because it’s been so hard to talk about seeing his discomfort and I was running into road block after road block as to what to do and nothing I was doing was helping and if it did it lasted 2 weeks and then back to square 1…so I reached out to the school. After tests and X-rays he is a candidate for a carpal arthrodesis procedure. This is an orthopedic procedure that uses plates and screws to fuse the joints of the carpus (knee) together as well as provide stability to his joint so it does not "pop". This procedure will greatly reduce his overall pain in the joints and can help prevent his leg from becoming more angular. (See the pictures ) right now his knee is bone on bone, and you hear it grind every time he walks. Despite being in a ton of pain 24/7, cowboy has never let his knee stop him from being the amazing sweet goofy guy he is! Which is why we feel he deserves this surgery. This surgery is going to be a huge undertaking for scott and I. We have decided to start a go fund me for cowboy to help with his surgery and recovery. It’s a 6 hour procedure that will cost $12,000. It’s only fair we do this for cowboy after all he has done for us and others. Otherwise are are lucky to get 6 months to a year with him with how quickly his leg is progressing and his time isn’t up yet, not even close, he’s still young and has so many years left, and it’s clear he’s fighting to be here! If you’re able to donate we are so grateful to you, if you aren’t please take the time to share cowboys journey! We will be updating everyone on his progress! This is going to be a looooong recovery, but cowboy is ready
