Help Cesar and his Family

     Like so many whose lives have been deeply affected by Covid-19, so has our dear coworker, friend, father, husband, and dedicated nurse Cesar Millan. 
     As one of Caesar's friends and colleagues, and with the support of our whole team of nurses, ancillary staff, his family and GFM community, I come to you with an urgent call for help for one of our own frontline heroes.
     While attending to the many Covid-19  patients  when the pandemic reached our area in March of this year, and despite taking all the necessary precautions to keep him and his family safe at work and at home, Cesar became infected with the virus. Unlike the many young people who have had minor symptoms, Cesar's case is different. 
     His is one of those rare cases that-while only 31 years old-the virus has wreaked havoc on his body, severely damaging his lungs, bringing him to the brink of death. Yet he has endured every complication of this devastating virus- demonstrating his unwavering faith in God and the support of his family. 
     While we are thankful that he continues to heal from these complications, he has had to have an additional surgery that he now must heal from. 
     Cesar had a long time goal of becoming a Registered Nurse and in 2015 he accomplished that goal. Shortly after becoming a nurse he, along with his wife Ma'an, and their two boys moved to the Coachella Valley, where he began his career with us. 
     Ma'an has worked tirelessly to boost Cesar's spirits, visiting him when possible, and caring for their two sons  which nowadays also includes  overseeing schooling. 
    Cesar has been unable to work for the last 5 months. Most of which has been spent in multiple hospitals. Although still requiring oxygen, he has recently returned home to continue healing. Soon when he is strong enough  he will transfer to a rehab hospital to participate in aggressive physical therapy. His ability and timing of returning to his love of nursing is unknown. 
    Today, we ask for your help. The funds you donate will be used to supplement loss of income, cover daily living expenses, medical costs, and travel/lodging expenses to enable Cesar to continue seeing his specialists who have been so instrumental in saving Cesar's life.
