Two weeks ago, 6 core FLUX team members were robbed at gunpoint in our West Oakland woodshop while volunteering on a collaborative public art project. Thankfully, no one was hurt. 

These 6 people -- 5 men and one woman -- have been working tirelessly for three months to deliver yet another amazing large scale public art work. They've dedicated their time and energy solely for the love of the art and of our community. In their lives outside of art-making, they work hard as contractors, project managers, architects, and woodworkers. 

Collectively, about $4000 in cash, phones and other items were stolen that night. FLUX's theft insurance doesn't cover the workshop location because it's offsite from our main shop. We wish FLUX could cover the sum of the damages, but as a small non-profit, we don't have that luxury.
