Hi! My name is Rosemary Lopez-Ocampo.
It is with deep sorrow that I share the death of my best friend, Shirley Bey (she passed away Monday, March 27, 2023). She was diagnosed with cervical cancer which, along with her other underlying illnesses, posed many challenges. Shirley fought a good fight.
Shirley was a woman of strong faith and loved everyone she knew as well as those she passed on the street. Her humor and smiles were contagious! Even in the darkest days of her illness, she maintained a light-hearted spirit and responded to sarcasm and humor in a way only Shirley could. All who knew Shirley knew she was a force to be reckoned with, and she would go to bat for you. She gave herself to all relationships and truly felt blessed by everyone she knew! Shirley will surely be missed by many, but the fond memories will live on!
Shirley leaves behind a daughter, Noelle, her sole caregiver, who has been by her side through all of her many health appointments and treatments. Unfortunately, caring for her mother consumed much of Noelle's time; therefore, she remained unemployed for the last several years. Noelle could benefit from financial support – big or small. Therefore, with a heavy yet optimistic heart, I am reaching out to the generosity of those who knew Shirley to help her daughter get back on her feet. Shirley’s father, who lives in Boston, (and is the only other surviving family member), is also advanced in age and needs care. Noelle is planning to rejoin her grandfather in Boston to be his caregiver. The trip to Boston is only possible with some help.
Please consider donating if you can do so. I am so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time. Feel free to forward this to others.
Thank you.
