TVR Car Club Backs Youth Racer!

The TVR Car Club is throwing its support behind an exciting upcoming young Kart racer Jacob Ashcroft.

We are delighted to announce the TVR Car Club and any other independent supporters of an exciting new program that supports upcoming youth and racers through fundraising, event attendance and some great days out for all the family.
With TVRs racing heritage and its huge membership of TVR lovers, we have the opportunity to help young racers of the future and, at the same time, show the cars we love and enjoy. Remember, TVRs are race cars of the day that were made roadworthy!

So who is Jacob?
Jacob is a 11-year-old international kart racer for Dan Holland Racing who has produced some astonishing results and is likely to have an exciting future. He’s already appeared in Nickelodeon’s “Extraordinary Me” TV program.

His Dad, Barry, is a previous TVR owner and fan.
Jacobs has already delivered some great results and is currently racing in the 2022 MSUK IAME Cadet British Championship, where he is the number 3 seed; he is also competing in the national IAME Championship LGM.

Previous wins include:
  • 2022 Rotax MiniMax Vice World Champion
  • 2022 TVKC Winter Series Champion
  • 2021 UKC IAME Cadet Champion
  • 2020 MSUK Rotax Micro Max Champion
  • 2020 RMCIT Micro Max Vice-Champion
  • 2020 BKC Winter Cup Champion

Why has the TVR Car Club decided to support and help raise funds for Jacob?
The club's main objectives are to help the club attract youth and younger members.
To create a series of events the club can attend that children, grandkids, and friends will all find exciting and have fun and, most importantly, provide Jacob with the opportunity to be his best by helping raise the funds he needs.
We hope that on the back of this program, we can extend out to other racers in 2024.

What are the events like?

Don’t be fooled! These are full-blown events with stands, catering, hospitality and more. These will be great days out that all the family will enjoy while at the same time having a driver we can support and cheer on!

Jacob’s kart is powered by a 60cc IAME 2 stoke engine, it can reach speeds of nearly 65mph. He races on slick tires in the dry and treaded tires in the wet.
Up to 34 karts can be on track at any time; the race starts with a rolling start with the karts forming 2 rows side by side, for an optimum start, the karts are physically pushing each other it makes for an exciting start to a race as they all fly into the first corner. The races can be up to 15 minutes long, it really tests the physical & mental strength of these 8-12 year old kids.

Supporting with your donation!
All donations are welcome as we are trying to raise enough so Jacob can get a new Kart and other equipment. He’s been winning races despite the age and damage to his kit.
With our support, he can push harder and release even more of his talent on the track.

What do I get for my donation?

Besides knowing that you have potentially backed a future champion and played a key role, you will also receive:
  • TVRCC car sticker (collected at event attendance).
  • Entrance to any of the events (excludes a few sites that charge for car parking, although most are free).
  • Invitations to TVR club drives out and attendance.

You can also follow Jacob at links on Instagram, Facebook and watch his races on live TV. Keep an eye on his pages for the next events.
