On the 13th of November, my 21 year-old sister Daniela suffered a heart attack and severe brain injuries due to lack of oxygen. She was placed in an induced coma for 2 weeks and the medication has left her in a vegetative state, on top of her renal failure and epilepsy. My mother had to stop working as a PCA to take care of my sister; there are supplies that the insurance does not cover for my sister: diapers, wipes, protein supplements, and bedpads which over the course of a year costs more than $6000 dollars. I would like to request this money so that my parents can cover these expenses for a year and I can go to college knowing my sister will have everything she needs.
