Just one year ago I took my husband home to Australia for Christmas to experience the beauty of my country. We hiked around the Blue Mountains, fed Kangaroos, held Koalas, and explored as much of the country as we could. Little did we know how different it would be today:
Record-breaking temperatures and months of severe drought that have fuelled a series of massive bushfires across Australia. Twenty people have so far been killed - including three volunteer firefighters, approx. 500 millions animals and about six million hectares (60,000 sq km or 14.8 million acres) of bush, forest and parks have been burned.

Please join me in raising money for two major organizations working around the clock to rescue injured wildlife (WIRES) and combat the bushfires (NSW RFS).
1. WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.) has been rescuing and caring for native animals for over 30 years. Read more about their services here: https://www.wires.org.au/
2. The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) is the lead combat agency for bush fires in NSW. For over 100 years we have been a significant part of the history and landscape of NSW. Read more about their services here: https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/
There will also be a Fundraiser held at Foleys Club Lounge on Saturday January 11th from 7:30PM on. You can find more information about it here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2601896576531455/
Funds raised will be divided 50/50 between each organization.
