Kevin's Hip Replacement and Past Medical Bills
I recently had a hip replacement. Yeah, the last six months have been tough. Well, make that the last four years. That's really how long I have needed a new hip, though I didn't know that.
In August, of 2023, I went to the emergency room after a week of pain in my abdomen. It turned out to be the largest kidney stone the emergency room doctor had ever seen. Alas, not big enough to get into the Guiness Book of records, but enough that I was shipped down to Williamsport, an hour away in an ambulance, and with no insurance.
It took four medical procedures to get rid of the kidney stones. I was able to get insurance through my wife. So, some of that is covered. Then my regular practioner noticed an x-ray of my kidney and how my left hip joint looked to be bone on bone.
I was sent to a sports doctor for additional x-rays and yes, I needed a new hip.
My hip replacement seems to be going well, but I had to miss a lot of work in January and in the fall for hospital stays and I have fallen behind medical bills and haven't been able to help in the bookstore as much as I usually do.
I have a huge sale going at the bookstore to try to catch-up, but I need some help
Thank You
