One of my favorite people in the world, my aunt Kim Palaferri, is recovering from major open heart surgery - a quadruple bypass & valve repair. The initial surgery went really well, but a couple days later there were some complications and the doctors put in two heart pumps - another open heart surgery...

She's currently under sedation meds to allow her heart to rest and the doctors hope to remove the temporary heart pumps soon.

This world needs Kim in it. Anyone who knows Kim (and that's a lot of people, apparently!), knows how bright a light she is in this world and that she lives an active lifestyle. She has touched the hearts so many people and the outpouring of love and support we've received is incredible.

Instead of celebrating "The Best Day Ever," her wedding day, Kim was fighting for her life in a hospital bed with her fiance, Deb right by her side. In October, the family had a cruise vacation to Mexico to celebrate Kim's daughter Kaila's 21st birthday. We are all heartbroken to see Kim and her family go through this and shocked at how quickly and unexpectedly things changed.

The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help cover some of the costs of medical bills & rehabilitation and to help with expenses while Kim is in recovery, unable to work.

The road to recovery is not an easy one after open heart surgery. Healing is a long process, but Kim is strong and she's going to walk out of that hospital!
