Support Elizabeth Stroke Recovery Journey

On Thursday, April 10th at 8:40 a.m., our beloved Elizabeth Schreier—known by so many as Mom, Sister, Daughter, Liz, Auntie LaLa, or Aunt Lizzie—suffered a serious and unexpected stroke. Thankfully, her husband DJ was home and able to get her emergency help immediately. A clot removal procedure that same day was successful, but follow-up scans revealed a large area of her brain was impacted.

Since then, Liz has been fighting with everything she's got—and so has her family.

Liz is a devoted wife and mother of four beautiful, adopted children, and the very heart of her family. She's known for her sense of humor, her fierce love, and her faith. This stroke has left her currently unable to use her right side. She is also experiencing significant pain in the paralyzed right side which makes daily therapy difficult.

She thankfully has full use of her left side and it grows stronger each day.

Unfortunately, the stroke also impacted her ability to speak. She is starting to say some words but communication is a struggle.

But her journey is just beginning. Liz has thankfully been able to come home after two weeks on ICU and three weeks in inpatient rehabilitation.

As with any unexpected medical emergency, expenses are beginning to pile up. We are humbly seeking to raise $15,000 or more to support Liz’s healing and give her family the breathing room they need to focus on recovery—not finances.

• Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, and alternative healing support

• Childcare for four active children

• Meals and groceries while juggling hospital life and parenting

• In-home health support as Liz transitions out of rehab
