Hi everyone. My name is Lindsay, I live in Boston MA with two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels; Lemon (3 mo) and Poppy (~2 yr).
Our baby Lemon broke her elbow in 3 different places this past Sunday. She had to undergo an emergency surgery to mend the bones together with a pin. The doctor informed us the surgery, pre-op and post-op would cost over $8,000. Regardless of the price, there was never a doubt we were going to get the care Lemon needed, but it did help thinking we were protected by our pet insurance.
Lemon had her first vet visit the day before (2/5/22) and we signed her up for Trupanion pet insurance at the appointment. Unfortunately, the insurance activated the following day at 4:17 PM and we checked into the Emergency Vet Clinic at 4 PM so our claim was denied.
