Malarie Edmondson Health Care Fund

Malarie's medical battle started about 4 years ago! At 29 years old she has gone through more than most will in a lifetime health wise. Starting out as something as simple as emergency Gallbladder removal due to Gallbladder disease gone undiagnosed.  In the last four years she has been diagnosed with multiple autoimmune diseases including Systemic Lupus, Hashimoto's thyroidits, and RA. Going in for what she thought was a routine scan for her thyroid disease discovered that she had Stage 1 thyroid cancer and had a total thyroidectomy in December 2014. She  has been  dealing with stage 3 endometriosis and PCOS. She also has gone under for multiple surgeries trying to combat these diseases that have no cure with no avail. Not to mention other female reproductive problems.  She was diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia and she works with a specialist to control every two weeks. In August of this year her mother rushed her to emergency for what they thought was a simple stomach bug to find out it was something more serious, she  was hospitalized for five days and put through multiple tests and procedures to fix it.  She was sent to one of the top GI's in our area who performed a colonoscopy and upper EGD. Finding many polyps and scaring in her stomach and intestines. Was hospitalized due to dangerous liver and pancreatic enzyme levels and excruciating pain. Soon to be diagnosed with a very rare thing called Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. She just underwent yet another surgery to try and fix this and is going back in one week for part 2.  Due to the rarity of this dysfunction it is not a for sure that this will fix it.  She is in the process of going through tests to find out what the specialists are concerned of a kidney disease as she has chronic infection with pain and low kidney function. Not to mention all the hospital visits due to what a normal person would be simple sickness is debilitating to her as her immune system is severely comprimised. Going through all of this she continues to be on top of her game as a mom, wife, daughter, and friend. She fights everyday to live as normal a life as she can, but her quality of life is not great and gets harder on her and her family everyday.  As we all know medical debt can grow fast and now is completely taking over their lives. She is having to try and find a better plan that will cover her specialist and medications she needs to keep going and her current insurance is changing drastically so they are having to pay even more for health care.  They have had to take out multiple loans to pay for her treatments, medicines, procedures, surgeries, and health care in general.
