Dear Family and Friends,
This year, I began my studies at Mercer University School of Medicine. Along the way, I became involved with the Christian Medical Association on campus.
From older med students, I had heard about a Honduras mission trip from last year and became very interested in the possibility of a trip this summer. Once the trip was confirmed, I quickly signed up to go. Alongside a team of qualified doctors, nurses and other trained healthcare professionals, we (as students) will be using the knowledge we have gleaned this year in our studies to help medically serve the people of the city of Guaiamaca, Honduras.
This is a unique and wonderful opportunity for Christian medical students to spread the light of Christ through mission service. I made this page because each student participating in the trip must raise the funds to travel to the Honduras. This financial contribution on the part of the student also provides a portion of the necessary medical supplies we will take with us.
We will be staying in a compound called Hospital Bautista (pictured above) in the city of Guaimaca beginning on July 3. The compound is run by the Baptist Medical and Dental Mission International organization, a mission that hosts a broad range of services that aim to meet the basic needs (both physical and spiritual) of the people of Guaimaca. In addition to the hospital, this compound contains living quarters and a church for worship services. Those seeking medical/dental attention, food and spiritual provisions will come from outlying villages into the compound. This is where we come in :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post and once again, thank you for your continued love and support!
Please know that any contribution you choose to make- whether prayer or funds - is truly appreciated.
My journey and transition to get here was not a direct or simple one, and I am so grateful for all of the kind and loving support I have received along the way. I am so grateful for the wonderful people in my life. Your love and prayers mean more to me than you will ever know!
Love,
Christina
