Hello!

You may know me, but my name is Heather. Sweet Bella is an older sister to Aretha, Debo, and our son, Sal.

Our sweet Bella has been diagnosed with lymphoma. There’s no way to sugarcoat this—it’s heartbreaking.

Bella has been with me through the best and worst times of my life. Nearly 10 years ago, I drove to Lexington in hopes of bringing home a dog. The one I went for had already been taken, and as I looked around, I saw Bella—scared, timid, sitting in the corner while her sister bounded out with energy. The note on her kennel said, “I’m better when I am with my siblings.”

When I brought her out with her sister, she didn’t run or play—she just quietly sat there, overwhelmed. But in that moment, I knew. She was my girl. From that day forward, she became my shadow, my comfort, my pretty bean.

I can’t imagine life without her. And while I’m terrified of what lies ahead, what matters most to me is that Bella feels love, comfort, and joy however much time we have left together.

This is not something we were expecting & the urgent needs alone have been costly. We are having to act quickly as her status has changed within the past 2 days. We not only have to see her regular vet for urgent needs + review the situation, but also with oncology.

We are so appreciative of the friends and the animal community.
