Vangelis Koutouleas was a lifelong coach and a former international athlete in both volleyball and beach volleyball. He poured his heart into the sport for decades — but he was so much more than his titles. Vangelis was a mentor, a friend and an inspiration who helped athletes become dream-chasers by blending skill with joy and passion. His selflessness and generosity meant “no” was rarely in his vocabulary. And his greatest reward? Seeing his players and their families grow, shine, and thrive — both on and off the court.

The Vangelis Legacy Fund carries that spirit forward, breaking down financial barriers so more young people can access and thrive in volleyball and beach volleyball. Whether they’re beginners or aspiring Olympians, the Fund helps athletes who might otherwise miss the chance to grow, compete and reach their potential.

On 16 July 2022, we lost Vangelis far too soon, but his vision lives on. His values — generosity, joy, connection — continue to guide us, and the Vangelis Legacy Fund ensures that his impact will reach the next generation.
