Anyone who knows our brother, Vang Cher Xiong, knows that he is the most caring, unselfish, and supportive brother and friend anyone in the world can have. He is the glue that holds our family together and the light that brightens up anyone's day. Although we all know his dry and wacky jokes aren't always funny at first, it usually catches on and makes us laugh…that is why we all love him so much.
Recently, our family celebrated the most anticipated event of the century…Vang finally got married! He and his girlfriend, Alaya Lee, tied the knot on July 16, 2016. It was a wonderful day filled with love, laughter and celebration.

On August 10, 2016, 3 weeks after he and Alaya married, our dearest brother was diagnosed with Stage 3 Nasopharyngeal Cancer. Several tests confirmed that the cancer also has spread to his lymph nodes. His doctor said with aggressive Chemotherapy and Radiation; our brother can beat this cancer.
Vang will begin his medical journey in the next coming weeks. He will be receiving both Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments for 2 months at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. This will require that Vang move to Rochester and remain there for the duration of his treatment. My sister-in-law Alaya, a Teacher's Assistant, will also have to take unpaid time off of work so she can go with and take care of him.
Knowing our brother, he will never ask for help, but we assure you that right now he and my sister-in-law need your help more than ever.
Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 to help cover the expenses of medical bills, housing costs, food, travel, and the many additional costs that he and Alaya are going to accrue in the near future.
If you're able to donate anything to help them out in this difficult time, they, and our family, would so very much appreciate it. Even if you're not able to donate, if you could please keep our brother Vang and his wife Alaya in your thoughts & prayers, it would be so appreciated.
Thanks so much from the bottom of our hearts,
~Vang Cher Xiong's siblings
