Hello Everyone,

Thank you for your time and consideration. Please allow me to elaborate on what I am seeking to accomplish. I am looking to buy a wheelchair accessible van (average cost about $65,000.)

Here is a little about me: When I was 13, I was on my way to the beach with friends just like any other teenage girl. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the beach. The car we were in was crushed in a collision with a commercial truck.

I later woke up in a hospital to the realization that I couldn't feel my legs. I wasn't able to go home for months while I recovered from the accident and participated in a rehabilitation program where I learned how to live with a spinal cord injury.

Now as a young woman, my husband and I are unable to afford a wheelchair accessible van. The ease which others take for granted in getting in and out of a vehicle is something that I cannot experience as getting into a vehicle is quite the ordeal for me. Also, as it currently is, my husband and I will not easily be able to accommodate children in our car. Having children is something that we would like to experience. (Currently, most of the free space gets occupied by wheelchair parts which need to be disassembled and reassembled at every destination; this leaves no room for children.)

Additionally, we would be able to easily attend doctor's appointments, work meetings, and recreational happenings.

So, today I call on the generosity of others to help us realize our dreams. Help us afford that which would otherwise undoubtedly be out of our reach.
