Vanessa is 18 years old, and enrolled in her first semester at Clemson University in South Carolina. For as long as we have known her, she has been a dancer.  Her mom, Raveena, our close friend, spent weekends driving "Nessa" to her dance practices and performances, at which Nessa always excelled.  She started dancing very young, and continued.  Proud mama always shared photos and stories of Nessa's successes.    In spite of feeling weak, Nessa has continued to work hard in school to ensure her grades would not slip.  

Earlier this month, Nessa was rushed to the ER and to admitted to the critical care unit for Stage 5 Lupus Membranous Nephritis (https://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/Lupus_nephritis), the most severe stage.   She was  unable to walk for 4 days and w as experiencing dangerously high blood pressure.  She has lost patches of hair, and has a swollen body and legs.

Raveena and Art, Nessa's parents, have God on their side and have been permitted to work remotely.  Once they learned of Nessa's diagnosis, they picked up without blinking and moved their lives from NJ to South Carolina, leaving Antoinette, their other daughter in NJ where she attends school at Rutgers.

We are raising money to help with Nessa's medical bills and the additional costs they are incurring to maintain 2 households, and travel between SC and NJ while Vanessa stabilizes and gets stronger.
