Hi my name is Vanessa and I have been diagnosed with Type 1 Chairi Malformation. Chiari malformation is generally considered a rare condition, affecting about 1 in 1,000 to 1 in 1,200 births. Chairi is a rare disorder where the brain tissue extends into the spinal canal. This can happen from the skull being too small and or misshaped. With this, it puts pressure on the brain and spinal cord causes me to have nausea, dizziness, vision problems, trouble keeping my balance, memory and migraines. I have a two year old son and I have no energy to keep up with his high energy because of the Chairi. The surgery i am needing to decompress the pressure on my head and spinal cord is happening on 02/25/26. The surgery consists of Taking a piece of skull out from the back of my head and than decompress the pressure, then they will have to skin graph a piece back onto the wound. Recovery will be 3-6 weeks of not being able to lift over 5LB and than lots of therapy. the recovery could take up to a year. I'm asking for your support so we can cover the medical bills because the surgery is going to be over $15,000 ( WITH INSURANCE). I need this surgery so I can play with my son and give him the childhood he deserves. Your support would mean the world to me and my family. Even if you can only donate $1 or sharing the post will do so much for me and my family! Thank you all for the love and support!
