Update: We started this GFM in mid Nov and ceased sharing at Christmas-- we realize we need to continue to ask for help. We've raised ~ $3500 of $22,000. A one-time, or monthly ongoing donation, is greatly appreciated! Any amount is helpful and does add up! We ask that you please share to help gather support as well!

When Vanessa broke her leg we reached out to offer tangible support and discovered she'd been SILENTLY overcoming breast cancer for the last year.
After a solid year of jaw-dropping challenges, Vanessa's world turned further upside down when she contracted Covid and lost her job (and insurance) in the same week—two weeks before closing on her first home. Single, with a new mortgage, and no unemployment benefits-- the relentless stress and Covid wreaked havoc and landed her in Cancer.
She then broke her leg badly, which derailed her Cancer treatments, as she became bedridden for 3 months and homebound (no walking/driving) for 6 months. She barely avoided a $25,000-35,000 surgery--there was zero room for error. Any money she can earn or raise needs to go to the bigger battle so she was grateful she got a second opinion and found a Dr. who gave her options.
She had only replaced half of her income at the time of diagnosis, and now with 2 major medical hits, back-to-back, 100% out of pocket-- the stress and need are a lot to surmount.
"This is the last thing you need," her doctor said when he found out about the leg. Daily tasks became extremely challenging to impossible as she sponge-bathed and luckily had visits from friends that made her meals and replenished her bedside cooler and water.
She was unable to care for herself and struggled to keep up with the work she had, and even lost one new client in the process. Clearly, it was NOT the time to be taking on new work.
The Cancer treatments thus far proved successful as the masses seemingly dissolved, although she has not had ample funds to do any further diagnostics or return to treatment.
She remains quite positive, while under the surface having concerns the added stress and setback (physically and financially) could undo all her hard healing work and monies invested in her recovery. She’s actively doing the “inner work” while we raise enough funds for her to finish treatments.
She needs to rehab her leg and get back to healing. Due to the high recurrence of Cancer, it’s critical she finish treatments—it is a two-year protocol (not 6 months).
She needs financial support to complete another year of treatment. She can’t do this alone!
Those who know Vanessa well know she’s HIGHLY-EDUCATED in healing and is UNSTOPPABLE when she sets her mind to something—especially when she is supported. Support goes a long way with this girl.
If you prefer FREE ways to give contact us (or Vanessa). Please be patient with her response time.
