Vanessa's battle against cancer

Donation protected
Aloha,

On behalf of Vanessa and the rest of our Ohana ~ we’d like to thank you all for taking a moment to read our ask for your help.

Vanessa, was diagnosed with cancer in June 2021. What originated in her bladder had spread to her lungs and bone, which prompted her doctors to start with an aggressive treatment of chemotherapy. After 5 cycles of chemo, we were hopeful as the lesions in her bladder and lungs disappeared. However, in between this time, due to low blood counts, she went through 2 blood transfusions, and by her 6th chemo session, she was experiencing pain again. Her doctors decided to change her treatment plan to radiation, but unfortunately, the pain had become more intense, affecting her ability to perform basic tasks on her own. She is unable to walk, and our family has been taking turns assisting her in feedings and other care.

She had been so adamant on fighting this battle quietly, however, with medical bills piling up and the aggression of her cancer, we are here asking for your help in alleviating some of the stress that comes with this battle.

Her husband Chris, has been the primary provider for their household - working two jobs, six days a week which includes driving to the other side of the island. Unfortunately, because of how aggressive her cancer has become, Chris lessened his hours of work, to help care for his wife.

Vanessa has so much love for her community. Prior to her diagnosis, she had been a member of the New Hope Church and enjoyed working with children at Kulana Na Mohala preschool, Little Tots, and Kama’aina kids after-school care. She and Chris have also been dedicated members of the Zumba community, often taking classes at the YMCA and Carissa’s Studio. She is the backbone of our family, and we understand that times have been especially challenging lately, however, any donation will be greatly appreciated to help cover costs of:

•chemo

•radiation

•ambulance

•hospital stays

•coverage for Chris’ time off work

•places to help care for Vanessa

Mahalos for any help you can provide.

Sincerely,

Ohana of Vanessa Salomon
