Hi! I'm Vanessa - a wife, mom to 2 young boys, and working full-time, who decided 4 weeks ago to put her dreams into action and sign up for 22 weeks of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training and the finale at the end of this will be...
My debut amateur MMA bout on September 28th, 2019!!!
I now wake up early every single morning before work, train for nearly an hour and a half. We go over striking, grappling, Muay Thai, BJJ...all of it! I also try to train on the weekends, but only when I'm able to break away from being "Mommy" for a bit.
I really look forward to the day when my boys will watch the video of my fight or hear the story about my MMA amateur bout and think their Mommy is a superhero!

I just culminated my 4th week of training and I've already grown so much. Through injury setbacks (that happened outside of the ring) and "old lady" pains, I show up and give it my absolute best. I'm so committed to this journey! Of course, slightly nervous, but excited for the road ahead to get me to that cage.
So, now I am moving onto my 5th week - 17 more to go!

For the next 17 weeks, I want to dive all in and this is where I could use your help. I want to be certain that I am prepared for that cage. I want zero doubt that I did all that I could do. I want to prove it to myself and to everyone watching my first MMA fight, that I was disciplined and that I did everything I could do to get to this point.
However, at this moment, I feel like I should be doing more...
Warrior family receiving a pep talk from one of our amazing coaches at the close of week 4:

I would like to add-in additional Muay Thai training and BJJ training and there are incredible coaches around me to get me to where I need to be. Without the additional training, I fear that I won't walk into that cage feeling confident and that mindset can end a fight right there. I want to show how far I've come and not let my mind defeat me!
All of this is possible to achieve, but in addition to requiring a ton of discipline (which I can handle), it's expensive. So, I am reaching out to my family, my friends, and my community to see if anyone would like to help me in my pursuit to fill my arsenal on my path to the cage!
Beginnings of training:

Your Impact
Any contribution you make will go toward my journey to the cage. I've paid for a chunk of my daily morning training, but I need about $3000 to cover necessary gear and equipment, additional training, recovery treatments, etc.
· $550 – Equipment / Gear
· $1500 – Muay Thai, Kickboxing, BJJ training
· $350 – Recovery treatments
· $600 – Crowdsourcing fees, extra support, cheerleading
TOTAL: $3,000
· $1000 – Balance of daily training (if interested in helping)
TOTAL: $4,000
Other ways you can help:
1. Help me spread the word! Use this link to share on social media and email: https://www.gofundme.com/vanessa039s-journey-to-the-cage
2. Come to one of my training sessions and take video and/or pictures during training so I can see where I need improvement.
3. Offer to babysit when I need to train, but the kids don't have childcare.
4. Fight sponsorship: Sponsorship opportunities for the MMA bout are available and there are quite a few options for your business to get recognized and various price points. Text, email, or PM/DM me for additional information.
Final words:
Whether you share my journey with others, give a little, or give a lot, I assure you that there are no words that could express the amount of gratitude in my heart. Thank you for believing in me and supporting me and being a part of this life-changing event.
Sincerely,
Vanessa
