Vanessa Folts (Wick) Brain Aneurysm Recovery Fund

On Tuesday, June 2cnd my mother Vanessa Folts suffered a sudden and very serious ruptured brain aneurysm. Vanessa collapsed at home early that morning where thankfully Rod was present . Mom was unresponsive and not breathing by the time paramedics arrived. Vanessa was airlifted from the Port Allegany soccer fields en route to Erie, however due to her rapidly declining state, she was taken to Buffalo General Hospital.  Once at Buffalo General, Vanessa underwent an emergency surgery where a coil was placed to seal off the opening of the aneurysm. A small hole was drilled through the skull and tubes placed to drain blood and fluid causing pressure on her brain.  Vanessa is currently in the neurological intensive care unit and will be for a few weeks. Breathing tubes were removed a few days ago and she has been making small, gradual improvements. However , she is currently experiencing some short term memory loss, severe head pain and some select nerve damage . We are hopeful these are only temporary , however it's just too early to know for sure .Mom is being closely monitored for possible complications that can result from a ruptured aneursym, we are all remaining positive that there will be none.  I can tell you from our conversations she is remaining positive, her sense of humor is still intact and is cooperating in all measures to help in her recovery . The nurses have stated she has been making them laugh and I don't doubt it for a minute.  Vanessa has NO MEDICAL INSURANCE. We've all told her that this is not a time to stress about bills and money but she's in her right mind enough to know some hefty medical  bills are ahead for her . Not to mention care that will be needed after her hospital stay to aide in her recovery .  I am asking our friends and family , our loved ones , anyone who knows Vanessa ..for your continued prayers..she needs them now more than ever . I set this page up for donations that can be used for Vanessa's medical bills and future rehabilitation costs.
