On Thursday, February 23, while driving home, in an attempt to avoid a collision with another vehicle I was involved in a single-car accident that resulted in my being ejected from the vehicle. The car flipped several times with me inside before I was tossed an estimated 60 feet. Several failures in my vehicle left me unprotected, no airbags deployed and my seatbelt failed to safely restrain me. The next thing I remember is waking up in a North East Georgia Medical Hospital Intensive Care Unit after being unconscious for hours. Upon waking, I begin to learn about the extent of my injuries. I suffered several broken bones. I have broken ribs, my left leg is broken in three places. Additionally, an open wound on my leg has required over 200 stitches and has extended my hospital stay indefinitely due to infection which required emergency surgery. I suffered internal damage to my lungs and started my stay with pulmonary hygiene procedures that although lessened is ongoing which means I require round-the-clock use of an external oxygen source.

I have had family present and at my side to help to the extent of their knowledge and to provide me with nurture and emotional support but upon being discharged, I will need more extensive medical support. I will also need more equipment and disability accomodations. Lastly, I will need financial support as I enter a period of being unable to work in the last 3 weeks and indefinitely going forward. As many of you know, I had begun an entrepreneurial journey by selling plates and meal preps and it's been completely derailed and resulted in a total loss of income.
