Vanessa Roman Cancer Treatment

This fundraiser is to help my mom, Vanessa Roman, pay for her cancer treatment.

Hello friends. Our family has received yet another devastating blow, after losing our beloved sister Natasha, our mom Vanessa, now has cancer also. Words cannot express the pain and disbelief this has caused our entire family.

On November 12th, 2022 Vanessa lost her daughter, Natasha Ramos, mother of Elena and Matias, to cancer (renal medullary carcinoma). This cancer was aggressive and understudied. As such, Vanessa in an attempt to save her daughter, incurred a large amount of debt. Now Vanessa herself is facing her own diagnosis of HER2 triple positive breast cancer stage 4 and incurring even more debt. Many a cancer patient have lost their homes in order to pay for their treatments. One was enough, but this on top of the old debt is just too much for one person to bear while they have to stay positive in order to fight this beast. Losing your own child to cancer is enough grief to deal with to now add onto it this devastating news and more debt.

Some of the treatments mom will be undergoing include chemotherapy, an operation to remove part of her lung, mastectomy, radiation therapy, hormone pills, nutrition therapy, IV infusions, and more. Our family has witnessed what cancer and chemo did to our sister, Natasha. Mom will be receiving one of the same chemo drugs my sister used. This will leave her weak, sick, and immunocompromised. Vanessa is a hard worker and loves her work family at Disney Vacation Club. Naturally she will unable to work during this time. The out of pocket costs START at $85,000…..and go UP from there.
