Hello, my name is Jeannie and I am fundraising for my family. It all started a few weeks before Thanksgiving with a trip to the ER for what we thought was an umbilical hernia. We were shocked to find out that Vanessa had a mass inside of her abdomen about 16 centimeters wide... and just like that, an umbilical hernia was easier to think about then what we would soon be faced with. After weeks of testing, we would find out that Vanessa's mass was most likely cancer and needed to be removed ASAP. When we were referred to an oncologist we knew this was going to be a long and rough journey. Vanessa had surgery to removed the mass and what was suppose to be a two or three hour surgery was a seven hour surgery. We were told we would need to have a post op appointment to discuss the multiple biopsies that were taken and to see how she was healing from the surgery. On Friday, December 1st we were informed that Vanessa has a very rare cancer called Clear Cell Carcinoma and will need to start chemo. We are now faced with the stress and pain that comes with chemo and the expenses that will come along with it. If you know Vanessa, then you know she is an amazing person with a big heart and has done everything she can to help our friends and family in a any way. She stepped up and took a huge roll in Ziva's life and became a wonderful mother to our special needs child. We love her so much. We understand that the holidays are coming up and times are hard. I, myself have been working two jobs but unfortunately it will still not be enough to cover our monthly expenses and travel expenses for doctor appointments as we need to travel to California often for these appointments. If there is anyway that anyone can help in any way, we would appreciate it. Thank you so much in advance.
