Vanessa Gwen Spencer Funeral

Hello, I'm Ken speaking on behalf of my family. I'm the eldest son of Vanessa Gwen Spencer who has unfortunately passed succumbing to her failing health that she has been fighting against for the last 2-3 years.

She has been survived by her Husband (Aaron Spencer), and her three sons (Kenneth Spencer, Justin Spencer, and Luke Spencer).

My mom was incredibly young only being in her 40's and we are all surprised and heartbroken with how quickly this has happened. I know for myself this battle with her health had been incredibly hard to accept. Leaving jobs and taking time to spend with my mom was a priority and I will never regret that. My Dad has also been incredible taking time off to be there every step of the way with her. However, in choosing this course it is finically hard on us. The rest of my family has also made great sacrifices to be with us, comfort us, and help us plan this difficult process. On behalf of my entire family I am asking for donations in helping to cover expenses for the funeral. We don't expect to have all the expenses paid for but any relief is a burden off of us right now.

If you knew my mom you know that she was the anchor for our entire family. It wasn't a question of how things would get done with her. It was a question of what do you need to do to help her get it done. Christmas? Thanksgiving? Easter? College application? Movie date? Taxes? You knew you would come to our house because my mom had a plan. Losing our family anchor will effect our family forever. Though we are thankful that she was so loving that our family has come together and feel her love with us.

Leading to this we were graced with enough time to go and find a beautiful resting place at Honey Creek Woodland under the care of the Monastery nearby. She will be buried in the pine woods located on the grounds where she will enjoy endless beauty. They are active in providing green funerals which we know my mom would have liked. Untouched nature. Even going to find a plot we were graced with deer, rabbits, and butter flies.

We plan for everything this Saturday but that is up to debate. For those wanting to come to the service or the memorial I will try to keep information updated here to allow for those who would like an opportunity to come and celebrate my mom's life with us.
