Vander Blanding

My name is Heather Fisher. I am not sure how to even put this in words but I am setting this up to help my very best friends Haley and Kyereme Blanding.

After breaking her water at 23 weeks, Haley was put in the hospital to allow the boys to continue growing and getting strong. But them babies could not wait to meet their momma and daddy and on March 21st this beautiful couple welcomed their twin boys Vance and Vander. The babies were only 27 weeks and needed immediate care.

Since then, both mom and dad have spent every second at the hospital with their precious babies.

But on March 29th, baby Vander started to show signs of distress. He and Haley were rushed to Seattle Children's Hospital, while Kyereme stayed with baby Vance.

Upon arrival, they realized the severity of Vander's condition and did immediate surgery to try and remove an infection that had taken over his intestines. It was then that Haley was given the news that no parent should ever have to hear.... there was nothing that could be done and the goal was to keep him comfortable.

Sadly, yesterday 3/31 at 3:17pm, baby Vander took his last breath laying in the arms of his mother, supported by her amazing husband.

The expenses will be extreme, both for the care the boys are requiring but also the missed work of both Haley and Kyereme. And on top of it, they now have to prepare to lay their sweet son to rest.
