Vandelism at Yellow Dog Coffee Company

Hi friends. As you all know, we purchased a historic building on South Porter a few months ago. We have spent pretty much our entire liquid capital on refurbishing the building. We hope to be a benefit to the community and to host open mic nights, live music, poetry nights, and indie film nights. Plus, provide great coffee that is roasted on site.

On June 5, 2022 an individual walked up to the building and threw something that broke two of the large glass windows. We are completely tapped out for any additional funds. This is devastating to us. We have insurance, but this will both cost us money for a deductible and lost time on our opening which was already delayed because FEDex cannot find us to deliver our exhaust for the roaster.

Again we have insurance, but that does not cover the lost time for our employees. We have had a flood of support from the community. People are sending money to my personal Venmo etc. which is so amazing. I thought it would be best to create an easy place to raise funds. Additionally, we are offering a $500 reward for the identity and arrest of the individual responsible.

As we have been working on this building, Me, Rob and Kate have felt so much support from the community. My favorite thing is that people stop by and share the excitement of seeing a formerly tired and dated building get a facelift. Kate, Rob and I live here and work here. We are a building businesses on a shoestring, so an event like this can take us out. We are heartbroken that someone would walk up to our facility, watch for cars to pass, and throw something so purposefully to harm us and our property.

We appreciate our community, the generosity that is shown on the daily to us, and the spirit of the people that have shown up to help cover windows and give hugs. Thank you Norman we love you.
