Help Vance Meredith (Nook) Fight Stage 3 Lung Cancer

Nook is a selfless, free-spirited, and kind individual who has made it his life’s mission to express his truth through his music in hopes of inspiring others to realize their dreams, sometimes even at the expense of his own. Those of you who know & love him will agree that he would put his life on hold and give anything to assist a friend or loved one in need. Nook has always been passionate about health and spirituality. He has followed a vegetarian diet for many years. Nook loves his community and has dedicated his efforts to the service of others.

Now, at 48 years of age, he finds himself diagnosed with Stage 3B Lung Cancer and fighting for his life. Adenocarcinoma is an aggressive form of lung cancer that attacks the body’s joints and organs. The cancer was not detected until the mass had already developed into the size of a grapefruit which is causing the collasped lung. Nook is unable to receive radiation treatment & will need to undergo extensive surgery/chemotherapy (4 treatments) . This process will be incredibly excruciating and debilitating. Nook’s tumor has doubled in size in less than a month causing his lung to collapse leaving him with a limited oxygen supply. The pressure and weight of the mass causes him to suffer from frequent sharp chest pains and violent fits of coughing.

The family and friends of Nook have created a Go Fund Me account and are asking for your financial support. Your donation will contribute to Nooks basic lifes needs treatment, healing, and recovery can be in a peaceful environment that is comfortable, sterile, and smoke-free in hopes that his body will accept the chemotherapy treatment he will receive as an outpatient. Medi-cal will not pay for him to stay in the hospital so to properly accommodate and create such an environment we find it necessary to temporarily rent a space to prepare nourishing meals and properly provide the care he would need while fighting this life-threatening diagnosis.
