On 12/5 my van was stolen outside of my apartment in Portland. After spending months building it out and making it a comfortable living space inside with the best materials I could afford, I felt proud of my creation. Now that I have moved on from van life, I had it posted for sale to pass it on to somebody who would value the work I did.

I finally had an interested buyer, after trying to sell the van for almost 4 months. Had big plans to pay off some student loans, pay off various debts, and find a smaller more fuel-efficient car. Not 48 hours later, the van was stolen and stripped of its value.

Now that the dust has settled, the reality of the situation has set in. The build is salvageable, and that is where I am going to focus my efforts. Unfortunately, insurance won’t cover much of the interior build, so the expenses will be out of pocket. In order to recoup some of my losses, I have created this GoFundMe page where I will take donations to help out, and in exchange will be giving out prints of one of my photos to those who donate $30 or more. I have appreciated the loads of support from the online community throughout this process and would love to be able to give back in some way I can, and a photo print of mine is the best value I can provide at this time. I can’t tell you how violating it feels to have something so personal stolen and wrecked, but I’m trying to stay solution oriented and look forward.
