On the morning of Sunday, December 23rd, 2018, my best friend Jessica Lounsbury experienced something tragic. Just two days before Christmas, her grandmothers house where her and her 8 year old daughter (Olivia) reside was engulfed by a 3 alarm fire. Sadly, one of her grandmothers two dogs did not make it out. They escaped with only the clothes on their backs and unfortunately lost everything.  Christmas presents, clothes, shoes, jackets, everything they own is gone. While everyone is, of course, grateful to be alive, they are now without a home and are devastated by the loss.

While this is horrible at any time of the year, with Christmas two days away, the overwhelming stress of the holiday's on top of losing everything you own can feel unbearable. During these seemingly impossible times, the resilience and strength of a community can help carry us over our worst experiences.
