Van Landuyt Fire Fund

Donation protected
My parents, Larry and Judy Van Landuyt, are among the MANY who have been devastated by the Camp Fire that roared through Paradise, CA on 11/08/18 with unimaginable speed.  They evacuated with little more than the clothes on their back.

My parents lost three houses in Paradise:

#1 was the "Little House," as we all referred to it.  My parents bought this little 2 bedroom, 1 bath house back in the 90's when they still lived in Southern California. It was their mountain getaway "cabin" and they made it available to friends and family who wanted a place to "escape" from big city life. I lived there twice when my two oldest were very young and both of my sisters lived there at one point in time or another.  It had undergone a complete remodel over the years but remained a place for friends and family to stay when visiting.  My niece used it several times a year and had personal items, including photos, stored there and my oldest son lived there for a bit just a few months back.

#2 was my parent's primary residence for many years until they moved into House #3.  I spent the most time in this house living here on and off for a total of about 10 years. It was a wonderful tri-level home with a woodshed, detached 2nd garage, "playhouse" and giant trampoline in the backyard. My parents had rented it out for about the last 3 years. Their renters moved out in July and my dad had an appointment scheduled yesterday (11/13/18) to do a walkthrough with their real estate agent in preparation for putting it on the market.

#3 was my parent's primary residence and was right next door to House #2.  They inherited this house from a family friend that they cared for in his final years. My mom always referred to it as the "perfect house for us with everything so convenient and all on one level."

Although they have homeowner's insurance, at this point we have no idea how much that will cover or when they will see those funds.  In the meantime, they are staying with my sister about 45 minutes away from Paradise.  They are relieved to finally know the outcome of their houses but are in limbo.  They are still unable to return to Paradise but need to begin the very unknown process of starting over.

My parents have always been so giving and willing to help not only me and my family but anyone in need.  Now, many have asked how they can help.  I have no idea how much they need to restart but I know that they will be so appreciative of any help that you are willing to give.

I personally know SO, SO MANY that have been affected by this fire.   Any funds received that are above and beyond what my parents need will be passed on to another needy person or family.

Thank you and God Bless You!
