Van broken down in France -Needs new gearbox

Hi, we need your help!

My name is Dave and I am with my wife Jeanette. We are with our closest friends, Frank and Joanne in Northern France. We were traveling in vans with the intention of spending a few weeks in Spain for some wellness winter warmth.

Frank is ill but I don't really wish to discuss the details in public, but those who know Frank and Jo know his situation and know why this trip was important for them. Just two days into our trip and Frank’s gearbox decided to lock up in reverse, during heavy snowfalls. After 3 days the recovery company managed to get us to a garage. Unfortunately the garage has been unable to find a gearbox in France. The breakdown service are hopefully going to repatriate the van to England where it can be repaired; this can take up to 25 days.

I am asking for people to chip in if the can with a few quid to help-out Frank and Jo to assist towards getting a new gearbox in England when the van arrives.

Those who know them will agree that they are one of the loveliest couples in vanlife and if you knew them you would want to help.
