Help Linda save her home!

Many of you probably know my mom, Linda. And if you know her, you love her!

She works very hard and has all of her life! She raised three kids without much monetary help! She has always been selfless when it’s come to her time and money.

Unfortunately, the past few years have not been kind to her. She lost her mom (my grandma) after many years of caring for her at home. Her garage caught fire and had to be rebuilt, and she lost her homeowners insurance due to it. She has been without a furnace for over a year. She has gone back and forth between having health insurance and not. She has many health issues, including things that have occurred after breaking her leg and being out of work for a while. Through all of this, she still goes to work everyday to care for her clients, helps us kids and keeps it pushing!

Unfortunately, due to the culmination of these circumstances, my mom is a few weeks away from losing her home.

She was working with a company that had ended their contract due to an error on their part. She was then working with another company that was going to help her, and was turned away after weeks and weeks of submitting paperwork and waiting.

Now, her only real options are to pay her loan in full or file for chapter 13 bankruptcy. Quite obviously, she does not have the money to pay her loan in full by the date.

She is in the process of finding a bankruptcy lawyer, but she is already hearing that it will cost her at least $1000 to start the process and her payments may even be too much for her to afford once she gets through it.

She wants to eventually sell her house and move, but wants to do it on her own terms, and not because she is being forced.

If you are able to help, anything is very much appreciated. We set the goal at her loan payoff amount (around what she believes it is) but even getting her help with a lawyer would be amazing.

And if anyone knows of a lawyer who is good to work with that won’t be outrageous, PLEASE let us know.

I am 100% sure my mom wouldn’t want people to know of her struggles, so if you can keep this to yourself, that would be appreciated. She won’t ask for help, but we will do it for her!

1-8-25 Update-

One last update on this before I close it out!

Mom was able to compete the bankruptcy process and save her house. Now she is just having to pay her monthly payment, which is a huge stretch for her unfortunately. I am hoping to cash out this GFM and put it on her account next week. She won’t know where the money came from, just that she doesn’t have such a large payment.
