¡Vamos Guatemala! Spring 2024

¡Vamos Guatemala! is a Global Health service and learning experience which provides free healthcare to the community of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Through biannual outreaches we are able to fill in some of the healthcare gaps that currently exist in the country.
Per its most recent data, the World Health Organization (WHO) revealed that Guatemala has a physician density ratio of 1.2 per 1000 people, when >2.3 is needed to cover basic primary and preventative care needs. These statistics are critical for Guatemalans, especially the hard-to-reach and more underserved areas.
Fortunately, ¡Vamos Guatemala! was founded by a group of faculty members and medical students from the University of Texas Health San Antonio with the aim to provide free routine health screenings, primary care consultations, and prescription medications. Our organization has undertaken a multiyear partnership with several community stakeholders in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala.
For us to continue our mission, we need to raise $2500 to be able to afford medications and basic health screening tests. Additionally, we supply the health clinics with these resources in between our trips. 100% will go towards medications and tests. Please help us support our mission to provide the very much needed medical care to the Guatemalan people.
