SHH!!!!! Its a surprise...

We are the children of Valerie Scott, and our mom is finally retiring! For years, we would hear her alarm clock go off at 4:30am. Rain, sleet or snow, she would catch two buses to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and be a smiling face for all to see. Whether it was security, co-workers, bosses, patients and everyone in between, everyone knows Ms. Val!

What started as a part-time job for the 16-year-old South Philly native has turned into a 50-year journey filled with heartfelt memories, laughs, tears and meals served.

When asked, "what would be the ultimate retirement gift" mom would respond, "I've always wanted to go on a cruise to Hawaii. I want to see every island." So, we started this GoFundMe page to try and make her dreams come true.
