Val’s Lava Displaced Rescue Animals

Donation protected
My sister, Valerie Anne Barber, has lost her home and animal sanctuary to the recent eruption of Kilauea on the Big island of Hawaii. She needs our help relocating herself and the animals. Val created Aina Iki Ranch Sanctuary as an independently operated and privately funded home for special-needs animals.

On the island she rescued, rehabilitated, and provided hospice care for pets and farm animals for fifteen years. Her self-sustaining, perma-culture farm was dedicated to sheltering special-needs animals to help them overcome their disabilities. Her ranch sanctuary, along with the plants and animals that lived there, has been her life.

Even though losing her life’s work is breaking her heart, she speaks only of “What an amazing privilege she has had living on the island with her wonderful animal family.” As you can see, the river of lava has taken Val’s home, but has not taken her spirit. After the heart-rending task of finding homes for most of her special animals, Val must now leave Hawaii to find a new home for herself and for those ranch ‘members’ that remain un-adoptable. Please help us help this inspiring woman, to relocate and re-create a new beautiful life.

Thank you!
