Vals flight for life

The medical bills for emergency room, Medical Air flight to Marshfield, ICU, and hospital stay are flooding in. We are asking for any financial assistance you can give to Val and Judy Loertscher in their time of need. My parents thought their "Golden Years" would be stress free after working for themselves their entire life. They sold their business "Vals Auto" on a land contract this past year, and are trying to pay bills without the income they were used to. My dad is a Marine Veteran and is a very proud man, so for him to agree to this was a big step. The accident happened on July 30. My dad was lifting a tree that had fallen on a camper after a storm, when the tractor he was on hit a rut and he was thrown to the ground. Thank god our friend Brian was with my dad and got the ambulance their quickly. He got to Howard Young to the news that they couldn't treat him there because his injuries were too extensive. He had 9 broken ribs(most broken numerous times), and he had a punctured lung. He was airlifted to Marshfield and was put in the ICU for 9 days. It was touch and go for the first few days, then it set in that he was going to have a long, hard road ahead of him. After another 8 days in the hospital he came home to recover . It has been a struggle but he is the strongest man I know and we have faith that he will continue to heal.We are so thankful for the staff in the ICU for the excellent care he received there. We are also extremely grateful for Dads Family in Marshfield(namely Aunt Jan and Aunt Jeannie) who were there whenever we couldnt be. Thank you to everyone who sent cards, sat with dad, or just said a prayer for him, we cant thank you enough for your kindness. Please keep him in your prayers! Thank You, sincerely Kelly Wheeler
