Valley Flyers Flood

Donation protected
The San Fernando Valley RC Flyers, a community deeply rooted in a shared passion for model aviation, recently faced a devastating natural disaster, in the form of widespread flooding. The aftermath of this calamity is evident in the extensive damage caused to the four storage containers housing essential equipment. The water surged to approximately three feet high, leaving a trail of silt and debris on everything in its path.

Upon initial inspection, the containers resembled chaotic washing machines, with items scattered and covered in dirt. This includes crucial equipment such as a gas push mower, a riding lawn mower, desks, computers and a variety of tools. The severity of the damage is further underscored by the observation that three generators and approximately 16 marine batteries will need immediate replacement.

In response to this crisis, the community is rallying to action, with plans to initiate a clean-up operation. All donations given will aim to restore the Apollo XI model airplane field to its former glory, reopening it for the enthusiastic members who contribute to the vibrancy of this cherished community.
