Valiant's Path to a Brighter Future

Tax deductible
Meet Valiant! This beautiful 7 year old Gypsy Vanner boy was recently surrendered by his family to The Dorset Equine Rescue in Vermont. He basically had no contact with humans except for at feeding times and was not exposed to other animals since his arrival to New England at age 1. He also did not receive any medical, dental or hoof care other than once when he was just a one year old. He had bad thrush in all four feet and wasn’t use to picking his feet up. He was also a bit underweight, but is looking better already. Since arriving at The Dorset Equine, which is one of the best rescues in New England for horses, Valiant has received his first series of vaccines and will have his teeth floated in early Spring. Because he was not handled or trained, he has been allowed to settle in at the rescue for 2 months and is gaining trust as well as making horse friends. In his previous home, he was kept alone with no other horses on the property for the past 6 years which is naturally very hard on a herd animal. He now thoroughly enjoys playing with his new horse friends. He recently started into The Dorset Equine Rescue’s training program and has come a long way so far.

What does the future look like for Valiant? Because of his lack of training and medical care needs, V is going to stay at the rescue until he is ready for adoption and finds a compatible adopter. His care and training costs are estimated conservatively around $1000.00 per month. This is why individuals who helped to get him into this wonderful rescue are asking for any financial help that you can comfortably give so V will continue to strive toward his forever home. The Dorset Equine Rescue is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that depends on donations from animal lovers to operate. All funds collected through this Go Fund Me will go directly to V’s care and to support this beautiful boy’s future. Please help us raise $5,000 towards his care

We thank you and V thanks you for caring to change his life for a happy ending!
