Valey’s Battle with Brain Malformations Your Support Matters

In September 2023, Jess and Giuliano welcomed their precious son, Valentino, affectionately called Valey by those closest to him. Since birth, Valey has been deeply cherished by his family.

However, in the weeks following

his arrival, Valey began encountering a series of health challenges. Struggling with feeding, sleeping, and meeting important developmental milestones. After enduring countless appointments, tests, and frequent hospital trips between Brisbane and Northern NSW, Jess and Giuli finally received a part diagnosis for their beloved son. That of a neurological genetic disorder which includes Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy with an uncertain prognosis, making the future unpredictable.

This has introduced many complexities into daily life. At present, Valey requires daily allied health appointments for physical rehabilitation and is being fed through a tube. To ensure Valey receives the best care and experiences, it’s essential for his parents to be by his side as much as possible. As a result, Jess has been unable to return to her position at the local hospital.
