Valerie Rendon aka "my mom" is an amazing woman. She is the definition of selflessness, grace, beauty, strength, courage, faith and love. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has a long road ahead of her. She is also my fathers full time caregiver and has been since 1996 when he had a massive stroke and developed a blood clot in his arm which ended up being amputated from the forearm down. She never complains she just does what needs to be done for him. It has taken a toll on her physically and mentally but she relies on her family and close friends for support as well as her faith and trust in GOD to provide for their needs. My parents live on a fixed income and unfortunately their medical insurance does not cover the care that my dad needs that my mom provides for him daily. They do not have the money it would take to place him in "custodial/respit" care which is what my mom needs so that she can heal from her upcoming surgery and any other treatments she needs. She is the heartbeat of our family and deserves to be taken care of. She needs to focus on her own health care needs which has been neglected because she always puts others first. My mom is a proud, independent, self sufficient woman who hates asking for help. She will probably be very angry that I am even putting this page together but we have run out of options and she will eventually forgive me one day. I am asking for donations to assist in the care of my father either in home or at a facility so that my mom can do what she is great already at doing which is being a warrior. Doing battle with what life throws at her and being victorious over it with the support from family and friends like you and her faithful trust in our Lord Jesus Christ I have no doubt she will come out the victor in this battle and she will survive! I'm not sure who wrote this but it so perfectly describes my mom. "A warrior is that woman who gets up despite the enemy trying to destroy her, a woman who declares victory before seeing it, a woman who believes she receives her miracles because she knows the Lord she serves is alive and powerful!" -Woman of GOD
