Hi, my name is Cassidy and I’m raising funds to provide ms treatments for my mom. My moms name is Valerie Hancock and she is the founder of Terrapin Station, along with my dad. Valerie had a vision for her community and opened Terrapin Station, a record store in Murray, KY, in 1985 as a place for people to feel welcome and connected. She knew a space like that was lacking for many people in the area and dedicated herself to creating and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy. Over time many people would visit the store to see and talk to Valerie. She gave a sympathetic ear to those in need and never shied away from helping when she could. She still visits the store to this day and catches up with the people in her community although her health limits her ability to do what she has in the past. She was first diagnosed 11 years ago and has undergone conventional treatments that have been unsuccessful in halting the progression. Her mobility gradually declined as she went from a cane to a walker and then a wheelchair which she uses today. Her legs have recently become less mobile to the point she has trouble moving them at all and this lack of mobility led to two blood clots in her leg and post thrombotic swelling in her foot. In order to decrease the risk of this situation and keep it from happening again she needs immediate and decisive action. We also want to target and fight the ms, with a hope of restoring her health instead of just slowing down the symptoms. We will be implementing anti viral supplements and treatments, along with a focus on restoring the myelin sheath. The funds will be used to get a Powerplate my5 which we will use to simulate exercise and build her legs back up. It will also increase circulation to her legs. We will also get a EREADA Far Infrared Amethyst Mat Pro Purple with PEMF 73x29. This is an infrared therapy and PEMF therapy mat. She will lay on this to combat pain, inflammation, and aid in the healing and detoxification process. It will also help her sleep better at night and increase circulation. These machines are very beneficial to her nerves, which have been damaged due to the lack of myelin. The rest of the funds will go toward supplements, paying for treatments not covered by insurance, and ensuring proper care is taken.
