My Education & Wellness Journey
Beloved community,
Things are getting tough in ways I did not want to admit could get rough—our government, rent, insurance hikes, and that looming feeling of madness wandering the streets like the joker. This time feels like nothing I’ve ever known. I am not afraid, but I cannot say I love it either. The level of ignorance is suffocating.
And still, I believe.
I believe in the fruit of our labor.
I believe in the paths the ancestors cleared before us.
I believe in gathering, in music, in the healing that comes when we choose love, again and again.
Like many of you, I live check to check. My yearly income is under \$39,000. A small raise at work pushed me out of Medi-Cal, but I still don’t qualify for affordable coverage on the job. This shift left me in a difficult place. I am holding on, but I need your help.
I am raising funds to cover two areas of my life that keep me moving forward:
Wellness – \$4,000 for monthly bodywork, and a gym and hospital membership to stay healthy, mobil and strong.
Education – \$16,000 for the *Social Emotional Learning Master Program* with Breathe for Change, as well as a CTE teaching arts credential. This training will allow me to bring mindfulness, experiential music, and sound healing into classrooms, communities, and performances in deeper ways, while also creating new opportunities for meaningful work.
I am asking for your support to help me remain debt free, healthy, and aligned with the purpose I was born to live.
We are worthy of this beautiful life. We are strong enough to play our part. And with your help, we will taste the fruit of our labor.
With gratitude and hope,
Valerie Troutt
P.S. As a thank you for your generous support, I’d love to create a personalized mantra or SongGram just for you. Simply leave me a note that says, “Send me a song” and I’ll get to work. If you’d like it to focus on something specific—peace of mind, healing, abundance, or anything close to your heart—please let me know, and I’ll weave it into your composition.
